Itinerary:
Depart from the Universal City Metro station at 8:30am. Details will be emailed to partipants.
First stop is Cargasacchi. Cargasacchi is one of the new darlings of the wine trade press, and one of Peter Cargasacchi’s blog postings was recently featured in Wine Spectator Magazine. Peter is a true "character" among Santa Barbara’s vintners as well as a fantastic wine maker. Cargasacchi makes unusually good wines from varietals that are tried and true. This winery is not open to the public.
Second stop is Buttonwood. Buttonwood is an old goat farm and a working peach farm as well as a winery in a a beautiful setting. Buttonwood produces premium wines, mostly Bordeaux varietals. The gorgeous labels are made by one of the partners who is also an accomplished artist. Here we will enjoy a delicious catered lunch.
Third stop is East Valley Vineyard, where we'll meet winemaker Dave Dascomb and his family, right there in their vineyard, (which is not open to the public) and taste some of the best wines in the Santa Ynez Valley.
Dave helped his father as a young boy to plant the Cabernet Sauvignon vines in the vineyard, and we will actually try wines made from grapes grown on the property. One of East Valley’s Syrahs has been voted best in California.
We will return to L.A. around 6:30pm, depending on traffic. This itinerary is subject to change as needed.
In case you don't already know, L7 is a networking and
socializing "scene" for young
